Carlson Park Master Plan - Decorah, Iowa

Carlson Park is an undisturbed 110-acre site located on the southern boundary of Decorah. The project focused on the following goals:

• Enhancing trail capacity by expanding the trail system

• Establishing connections to existing parks and trail systems

• ADA-compliant restroom and shelter facilities, including shower facilities

• Improve access to and within the site

• Protect native vegetation and mitigate invasive species

The final phased master plan brought together diverse ideas to include a ropes course, bike skills course, pump track, observation tower, camping, amphitheater, 18-hole disc golf course, singletrack trails, hiking trails, an orchard, and nature play pockets.
