Walnut Creek Regional Park Community Open Space - Urbandale, Iowa

This two acre park at the intersection of Meredith Drive and 152nd Street creates a visible and welcoming northern entrance to the larger Walnut Creek Regional Park and Des Moines Metro trail system. The project focused on the following:

• ADA Accessible trail connections

• A central open lawn space for flexible programming and use

• Land art composed of natural limestone walls and rolling berms

• Broad swaths of native vegetation and educational interpretive signage

• Rain garden for stormwater collection

• Nature play area

Designed to complement future master plan improvements, the project offers space for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors and connect with the larger park and trail system.
