Community Trailhead Park - Polk City, Iowa
JBC worked closely with the City of Polk City to provide improved community connectivity to the two nearby regional trails. Through community focus group workshops and outreach efforts, the community identified the need for a trailhead park to draw and welcome trail users into Polk City.
JBC developed design plans for a new trailhead landmark incorporating a 50' tall bandshell structure that serves as a community icon and focal point. The proposed landmark and threshold is part of a series of improvements to enhance visitor wayfinding, while improving the sense of community pride with native plantings and pedestrian amenities.
