Holiday Park Youth Baseball Field Renovation - Des Moines, IA

Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company was the lead site and sportsfield designer for renovations of the youth baseball fields. As the landscape architect for phases I, II, III, IV & V, JBC was responsible for the master planning of the complex, site design, sportsfield layout, agronomic solutions and irrigation design for the project. During the design process, JBC took into account the program needs and maintenance requirements to ensure optimum performance of the ballfields. The agronomic solution for the sportsfields incorporated the native soils amended with sand to create a suitable turf surface with positive infiltration providing playability after large rain events.

JBC has recently completed a Signage & Way-Finding Master Plan for this complex and the adjacent softball complex for the Parks and Recreation Department to unify these two complexes through visual signage. Future phases for JBC include the construction documents for the Signage & Way-Finding and the design and administration of two more youth baseball fields in this complex.
