University of Kansas - Jayhawk Boulevard Streetscape Improvements
The University of Kansas, located in Lawrence, Kansas underwent renovations to the historic corridor of Jayhawk Boulevard. Shallow bedrock and intense utilities throughout the corridor created complications for the design team on a tight construction schedule.
Despite these constraints, JBC Landscape Architects provided landscape architectural design services for the planting design, subdrainage systems, soils engineering, and Best Management Practices (BMP) systems along a five block-long portion of Jayhawk Boulevard. This historic restoration project successfully integrated the intricacies of implementing new sustainable technologies within a cultural historic district.
